![]() β First Impressions π VISUAL: Link. A blue-eyed, golden-haired young man, late teens to early 20s (per canonpoint), with a strongly built physique and the kind of chiseled abs that teenage girls print out on posters. At about 6', he is... of average height among his peers. His most notable feature is his blond, prehensile monkey tail, the trait that marks him as Faunus: a human-like species that tend to be marginalized in most areas of his home world, Remnant. π FASHION: Sun hails from a nomadic tribe in Vacuo, a wild desert territory of Remnant that he states just "isn't a suit and tie kind of place." His idea of dressing up is putting a shirt on. Even his Huntsman attire, which others typically adorn with a lot of bells and whistles to carry weapons, supplies, and elemental Dust, is little more than sneakers and jeans. He wears matching red arm guards, which complement his close-range fighting style, and a pendant around his neck which is engraved with his Huntsman emblem. π DEMEANOUR: Friendly, fun-loving, nosy, meddling, mischievous, not exactly law-abiding, and always up for a challenge. Sun is laid-back and definitely not a stickler for the rules, marching to the beat of his own drum and always going wherever his heart (or his boredom) may lead him. He is eager to help those in need, even if he doesn't know them, and he has a vocal disdain for those who take advantage of the weak or the less fortunate. Sun proudly proclaims that he will always "go where he's needed," and he'll take his leave when he feels the job is done, always moving on to his next adventure. Though his heart is huge and his intentions are noble, Sun has a tendency to be very selfish and lacking in perspective, often failing to consider the feelings of others - even his family, teammates, and best of friends - before pursuing his whims, or even leaping right into meddling directly in someone else's affairs in his effort to "help." (Ask permission? Never met her.) When serious disagreements come to pass, Sun is conflict avoidant to a fault. It's easier for him to deflect difficult feelings, even going so far as to abandon some of his closest relationships, than subject himself to the struggle of facing the consequences of his impulsive behavior. He's still learning to overcome that flaw and mend all the bridges he's burned since before and after the Fall of Beacon. π SOUND: Link. Cheerful, hyper, brimming with confidence and enthusiasm. Uses a lot of casual language and slang, and can often come off as carefree to the point of being foolhardy or dismissive. He is quick to laugh and tell a goofy joke, especially when he's put on the spot. Everyone gets called "bro" or "dude" unironically. π SCENT: π MENTAL INFORMATION: He is... not very bright, easily distracted and not especially known for thinking through how his actions might affect others. He does not deal well with failure or confrontation, preferring to move on or change the subject rather than facing his flaws (if he is aware of them at all). Although Sun rarely hesitates to interject himself into someone else's fight, dwelling on his traumas can make Sun uncomfortable, frustrated, and angry - and he is not immune to projecting some of those feelings onto others, either. Nevertheless, he is a very earnest and honest guy, with good intentions at heart, and plenty of resilience built up over his nomadic and survival-oriented childhood. π MAGICAL INFORMATION: β Aura: The manifestation of oneβs soul, which can be used defensively and offensively by those who learn to activate and wield it. Aura acts as a barrier to heal minor injury and limit damage from physical attacks, which allows the user to fight and train with live weapons without sustaining mortal wounds. Aura is a limited resource which decreases each time it is used to block an attack. Once oneβs Aura βbreaks,β the user can be injured like any other human. Aura recharges with rest. β Semblance, "Via Sun": Allows Sun to project his Aura into multiple clones of himself, each of which can fight independently and detonate on contact. This ability drains his Aura rapidly, as Sun can sense and feel the attacks any of the clones take. As of the novel Before the Dawn, Sun has improved his ability to not only project more clones, but also fight alongside them, rather than having to stay in one place to manipulate them. The clones can be easily shattered by strong attacks. π COMBAT SKILLS: As a Faunus, Sun has senses, eyesight (especially night vision), and reflexes that are superior to those of an average human. Additionally, he is a Huntsman-in-training who specializes in close-range, martial arts-style combat with his custom weapons, Ruyi Bang and Jingu Bang: two nunchucks which double as shotguns and can also connect into a collapsible staff. Link to fight scene. ![]() [ β OOC π BACKTAGGING: Always and forever! π FOURTHWALLING: No thank you. π PHYSICAL AFFECTION: He is a very touchy and affectionate guy, and will welcome friendly hugs and more. π PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Fighting and sparring is ok! Sun probably will not attack unless he is attacked first, or if something or someone important to him is threatened. π RELATIONSHIPS: Theoretically straight, but OOC-wise? we love bromo shit so Sun is OTA for characters around his age (~17-21 depending on canonpoint) with development/assumed CR. Canonmates, cross-canon, OCs all welcome! He gravitates towards both strong, bossy femmes and equally dorky try-hards. No romance with Ilia, and no Blacksun please, unless platonic - but Sun may reference his past crush on Blake in meta. Kinklist. β Permissions Sun's canon and backstory includes themes of death and killing, PTSD, child soldiers, and (poorly conceived tbh) fantasy racism.
